Zanzibar Reverend

Your wedding ceremony can be anything you want it to be, so why not take advantage of that? In this day and age when you have total control over everything from the fonts on your invitations to the songs for your reception, it is unacceptable that many officiants don’t allow you total control of the content of your ceremony.

It is YOUR wedding. You should make it as spiritual, secular, traditional, progressive, solemn, ridiculous and uniquely you as you are. That’s where I come in. I can help you craft your personalized ceremony from the moment you come down the aisle to the moment you are introduced for the first time as a married couple.

You want it to invoke the unique setting and history of Zanzibar? You want it to reference one of those special in-jokes that are just for you? One couple wanted their ceremony to be almost entirely drawn from pop-culture. We worked together researching books, movies, TV and music and created a ceremony that invoked everything from The Princess Bride, to Captain Planet, to Monty Python and the Holy Grail. It was beautiful and it was uniquely them.

After an initial consultation where I can get a sense of what you are interested in, I will provide you with a packet that can help you think about how exactly you want to build your ceremony. The packet will include reading and music options, examples of different options for the most important wedding segments (vows, “I do’s” etc) and even full sample services so you can see how everything would look all together.

We will then work together to craft your ceremony, incorporating the pieces you like, adding new items, offering additional options, and giving you the final say in the phrasing of every line. Past ceremonies have included, unity candles, ceremonial mixing of sand, handfasting and even the ancient Celtic tradition of broom-jumping.

Your Ceremony

It doesn’t take money, it doesn’t take fame. You don’t need a credit card to ride this train. Its tougher than diamonds and stronger than steel. You wont feel nothing until you feel, till you feel the power, just the power of love.
